The Controversial congressman who created headlines previously for allegedly harassing an airport security personnel ACTS OFW Partylist Rep. Aniceto “John” Bertiz craftedheadlines last July 2018 as being one of the accused in the controversial P6 .8 Million DOLE “bribery case,” filed a by particular Azizzah Salim.

Based on the sworn statement of Azizzah Salim, the owner of Azizzah International Manpower Services, the wife of Congressman Bertiz was allegedly the one with whom Salim came to for the much-needed help, after the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) suspended the license of her recruitment agency.

Being the wife of the lawmaker and also representative of OFW in Congress, the owner of the agency believed that Bertiz wife could help her on the issues she was dealing with the POEA.

According to the allegations provided by Azizzah Salim, the wife of Congressman Bertiz stated that she has contact with the DOLE in the person of former DOLE Undersecretary Dominador Say, who has as well the jurisdiction of all suspended licenses of recruitment agencies.

With the assistance of Congressman Bertiz, Salim was able to talked with Vanessa “Ness” Josue, the suspected “runner” of Say. Both parties decided with the P5 million and P50 ,000 retainer fee monthly for the law firm of Undersecretary Say.

Even though all the arrangement between the wife of Congressman Bertiz and the suspected ex- Undersecretary of DOLE, the POEA did not succeed to returned the license of Azizzah Salim. Last April 16, the agency owner talked with Pres. Duterte and then mentioned all the accusations against Say and then Congressman Bertiz after she paid with P6 .8 million to the DOLE Undersecretary.

Congressman Bertiz was also accused by certain sources from DOLE being the one who created some measures to discredit Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III to the public and to the President of the Philippines, Pres. Rody Duterte. The allegations against Bertiz were released after Sec. Bello refused the congressman’s offer to allow his company be the one to succeed the contract for the ID Project of DOLE.

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) by now supported the case against Undersecretary Say and also Congressman Bertiz as well as his wife according to the sworn affidavit of Azizzah Salim.
