Wala pang napatutunayan na may batang namatay dahil sa Dengvaxia vaccine – Bam Aquino

0

The opposition Liberal Party (LP) slammed yesterday the draft of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee report on the Dengvaxia (dengue vaccine) controversy as a cover up of government fiascos.

“The LP also questioned the timing of the release of the committee draft report on the Dengvaxia issue, saying this is simply a smokescreen of the Duterte administration to hide the issues hounding its officials,” former congressman Erin Tanada, now LP vice president for external affairs, said.

”Why was the committee report released to the public before it has been filed or sponsored (on the Senate floor)? Are not the signatures of majority of the committee members required before the report can be filed?” Tanada asked.

“What happens to the report if the majority disagrees?” he asked.

The report is now being routed to senators-members of committee for their signatures which may indicate their concurrence or dissent.

The committee is chaired by Sen. Richard J. Gordon who released the draft report during a press conference with Senate reporters last Tuesday.

Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV agreed with Tanada.

“Though this report has not been made available to the members of the Blue Ribbon Committee, if the final report reflects yesterday’s statements and political leanings, we will have serious concerns with the conclusions made,” Aquino said.

Moreover, Aquino maintained that no child has died due to the Dengvaxia vaccine.

“Ang isang mahalaga na lumabas sa presscon kahapon ay wala pang napatutunayan na may batang namatay dahil sa Dengvaxia vaccine,” he said.

Tanada pointed out that the release coincided with the impending closure of Boracay Island, the President’s order to the House of Representatives to hasten the impeachment process against Chief Justice Lourdes Sereno, and the rising prices of goods and services.

“Nais na naman nilang ilihis ang isyu mula sa kapalpakan at kontrobersyang bumabalot sa administrasyong ito para matuon sa LP ang galit ng taumbayan,” said Tanada.

Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat doubted the fairness of Gordon’s report, saying that it focused mainly on the past administration, but did not dwell on the current government.

“Hindi lang sa nakaraang administrasyon ipinatupad ang bakuna sa Dengvaxia kundi sa kasalukuyang administrasyon. Nakakapagtaka na nakatuon lang ang report ni Senator. Gordon sa nakalipas na administrasyon,” Baguilat said.

The rehabilitation of the Pasig River started in January 1999 with the creation of the PRRC, “to ensure that the Pasig River System is rehabilitated to its historically pristine condition conducive for the propagation of fishes and other aquatic resources, transport, recreation and tourism.”

Since 1999, PRRC, suffered difficulties of cleaning the pasig river due to continued dumping and throwing of garbage from the residents beside the pasig river and luck of a strong government support of the previous administration.

In the present administration, by relocating the residents beside the pasig rivers, squatters and informal settlers, it helps a lot, and gives hope, in cleaning the pasig river to become a reality.

The representatives from various government, non-government and private agencies, the Foundation cited commission’s work in resettling 18,719 families living along the riverbanks to decent homes, dismantling 376 encroaching private structures, and the establishment of 37,471.68 linear meters of environmental preservation areas.

The PRRC also developed 17 of its 47 identified tributaries, diverted almost 22 million kilograms of solid waste, and transformed communities into environmentally- responsible citizens.

The IRF noted that Pasig River was declared biologically dead in the 1990s due to “persistent pollution caused by population growth and industrial development along its riverbanks.”

The rehabilitation of the river, which connects Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay, “resulted in significant water quality improvement, as well as the revitalization and development of the Pasig River system.”

In a press statement, Goitia said, “One of the five critical criteria in the determination of the winner was leadership, which we attribute to the leadership of our beloved Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte. It was PRRD’s leadership that united both the public and private sectors into this shared mission of protecting the Pasig River and improving the lives of the communities around it with strong political will.”

“This global recognition if for Pres. Duterte and every Filipino river warrior. Ito na yung bunga ng ating puso para sa Ilog Pasig kaya ituluy-tuloy lang natin ang ating mga programa,” he added.

ACT Tinio urges Duterte to disclose his Hong Kong trip itinerary: “Pera ng bayan ang pinang-shopping ni Duterte

0

Alliance of Concerned TeacherS (ACT) party-list Representative Antonio Tinio encouraged the administration to unveil the Hong Kong trip agenda of President Rodrigo Duterte a week ago to demonstrate that there’s as yet a straightforwardness under the present authority of the previous Davao City Mayor.

As per Tinio, as an open authority, President Duterte ought to reveal the data about the excursion regardless of whether his movement is for individual purposes.

“Para sa akin dapat i disclose ng Malacanang kung ano ang naging buong agenda at itinerary ni Pangulong Duterte nung nag punta siya sa Hong Kong, dahil Presidente siya ng Pilipinas ang ginamit niya sa pag punta doon ay government funds and resources,” Tinio said.

The administrator additionally said that beside Makabayan alliance, people in general likewise requested a straightforwardness over the excursion of the President.

“Kailangan may transparency dito, in fact kailangan may official records yung trip na yon, hindi pwedeng sabihin na private o personal trip yun, so hinihingi ng publiko ang buong impormasyon,” Tinio said.

Gabriela Rep. Emmi De Jesus also slammed President Rodrigo Duterte for being insensitive after he flew in another country while his countrymen are suffering from inflation.

She called the Hong Kong trip of President Duterte “unethical”.

“Nakakagalit din naman talaga, sa gitna ng kagutuman, sa gitna ng pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin at tuloy tuloy na pag taas ng presyo ng langis, Presidente mo namimili sa Hong Kong pa,” De Jesus said.

De Jesus also pointed out that the store where President Duterte was spotted buying clothes can also be found in the Philippines.

She suspected that the President’s shopping in Hong Kong was only a diversionary tactic to cover his real travel agenda.

“May Uniqlo naman talaga dito kung gusto niya, tingin ko yun ang gusto niyang (Duterte) pag usapan, kasi may iba siyang agenda siguro sa Hong Kong kasi alam naman natin lahat na yung period na yun ang problema niya eh yung result ng kanyang health laboratory exam,”

Special Assistant to President Christopher “Bong” Go already denied that the Chief Executive did a shopping spree in Hong Kong.

“Hindi totoo iyan. Walang may hawak na bundle-bundle na pera. Intriga lang iyan so prove it. Wala hong katotohanan iyan,” Go told reporters in a phone interview.

Philippines Got A Seat In The UN Human Rights Council

The Philippines successfully got a seat in the United Nations Human Rights Council among 18 countries as new members of HRC. The country is represented by Alan Peter Cayetano. Out of 195 countries, Philippines got 165 votes through secret ballots which means that the absolute majority believe in the fairness and equality of human rights in the Philippines.

This UN council event is intended for the 2019-2021 term. A minimum of 97 votes is required for a certain state to qualify for a seat.

Possible Effects of UN HRC Seat To PH

PH on getting a seat in UN HRC is indeed good news. But how important is such privilege to a country? The news means there is no such thing as tyranny in the country belying the EJK and human rights violations implied by LP to the present administration.

A corrupt and crime-free government attracts foreign investors to take a chance in the country which means more jobs for the laborers. With this, more tourists will visit the country without any hesitation of their safety.

Opposition

In lieu of various allegations against Duterte administration regarding EJK or extra-judicial killings and numerous human rights violations, it seems like the present administration still soar high despite accusation thrown by the leftists and the liberal party. Added to that, efforts from Robredo, De Lima, Sereno, Trillanes to outwit Duterte has gone too far. They even tried to divulge claims of killings and human rights violation under Duterte’s order on United Nations council and other international organizations trying to gain sympathy and beyond that, file a case against to whom they call as the “tyrant leader.”

Even the Commission on Human Rights keep its keen eyes straight on the President.

Though things got blurry for netizens on what it really inflicts on the country, they still remain supportive for Duterte.
