Villegas to Parents: Don’t Let Your Kids Watch Duterte on TV

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas has called on parents and educators to help children develop critical thinking to distinguish fake from legitimate news on social media and even on television.

Villegas, head of Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan and outgoing president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, also said the Christian message is “essentially confrontational” as he encouraged youth leaders and educators to defy evil.

“The government of this country is becoming the purveyor of fake news. I call on parents and guardians not to allow their children to watch the head of this government insulting women and children on television”, Villegas said referring to President Rodrigo Duterte.

Villegas also condemned Mr. Duterte’s remark about the “42 virgins” he joked during his recent visit to India.

“This president does not value the rights of the women. Women are not toys and should be given high respect. This president’s mouth expoited those rights”, Villegas added.

Villegas also said that social media is not the only medium that fake news fabricators like supporters of Duterte uses.

“You don’t want your young children influenced by this person. You must stop them from watching him deliver his non-sense on television,” Villegas said.

Expect more students walk out classes to fight Duterte’s Dictatorship – Kabataan Rep. Elago

University of the Philippines (UP)students continue to hold protests despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s threaten to kick out the militant youth party-list.

Kabataan Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago said”His statement exposes the true nature of his ‘free education’ scam: not all will benefit; instead of guaranteeing the right of every child to education, he dangles it around every time there is opposition to his fanatical dictatorship,”

As if education is free in UP and other state universities; many students continue to suffer from skyrocketing costs of tuition and other school fees, causing growing discontent and rage among the youth.”she added

On February 23, expect even more students to walk out of their classes to fight Duterte’s dictatorship and tyrannical attacks on the youth and the people,” she also said.

It could remembered earlier that President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to replace protesting UP students with those from the Lumad community in Mindanao.

It is a known fact that LP uses KABATAAN to oppose good government for their own personal interest. Why not? They don’t want to lose the money they inherited from their great grandmother ISYDRA COJUANGCO who was the mistress of the assassinated GENERAL LUNA. GENERAL LUNA was entrusted with Philippine gold and he in turn entrusted it to ISYDRA COJUANGCO.

HE was murdered so ISYDRA COJUANGCO can keep the countrys gold. NINOY AQUINO was obsessed with being the President of the Philippines but his wife CORY COJUANGCO AQUINO had another agenda. Since they were separated for many years, Ninoy was OF NO USE to her anymore so she had him assassinated by her own first cousin DANDING COJUANGCO.

This excerpt from the website states and I quote “A soldier convicted for the assassination of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino stands by his confession that Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco ordered the killing of the opposition leader upon his return from exile in 1983. ” unquote.

It was all a family plot against the other member of their own family. 80% of the KABATAAN 1982 were enlightened and regretted being involved in the EDSA uprising against President MARCOS, but it was too late.

Millions of history books written in favor of LP have already occupied the libraries of every school in the country. Now that LP former president Noynoy Aquino maybe imprisoned because of his mishandling of the MAMASAPANO case where 44 SAF troopers were killed in clash with MILF, BIFF members, Being a communist himself, Noynoy Aquino chose to save the communists.

LP will use their billions to get the KABATAAN to save him from imprisonment. Let’s not be stupid.

Public clamor anew to rename NAIA to MIA

Back in 1987, Manila International Airport (MIA) was renamed to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) through Republic Act No. 6639 which was enacted without executive approval on November 27, 1987.

Reading RA 6639, one can’t find a valid reason why the country’s main airport should be named after Ninoy Aquino, Jr., who was a former senator and convicted in 1977 by a military court of subversion and murder.

Thus, Ninoy Aquino is not a hero/patriot for inspiration and emulation of this generation and generations still unborn.  He was clearly a POLITICIAN and by naming the Philippine’s main airport to his name is an insult to all Filipino heroes who died for the country and not for political ambition.

Now, we, the People of the Republic of the Philippines is urging the Philippine Congress, through Senators Dick Gordon, Migz Zubiri, and Manny Pacquiao as co-authors, to repeal RA 6639 and rename NAIA back to its original name Manila International Airport (MIA).

Sa unang pagkakataon, Philippine shares breach 9,000 points for the first time

Share prices rallied past the 9,000-point level for the first time on Friday, reflecting growing investor confidence in the Philippines as it reforms its tax system and builds new infrastructure, analysts said.

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index was up 0.47 percent to 9.041.20, buoyed by gains in BDO Unibank, Ayala Land, SM Prime Holdings and SM Investments.

The first package of tax reforms took effect last Jan. 1, imposing higher duties on fuel, cars and sugar-sweetened drinks to offset a reduction in personal income tax rates and help fund President Rodrigo Duterte’s P8-trillion infrastructure program.

We were not who we were 3 or 4 years ago with the changes in our infrastructure and tax structure. The bullishness is definitely warranted,” 2TradeAsia.com analyst Trina Cerdenia told ANC.

The main index has room to advance by another 100 to 150 points “going purely on momentum,” before investors take profits, said Abacus Financial director for corporate finance Manny Ocampo.

Ocampo said investors would monitor fourth quarter and full year 2017 corporate results. Earnings growth of above 10 to 15 percent will likely push the market higher.

“That should signal some profit-taking, anything lower than 10 to 15 percent,” he said.

Boto Ng INC, Napunta Lahat Kay Leni?

peaking to ANC, Mindoro Oriental Rep. Rey Umali, who chairs the House Justice Committee, again said Sereno should face congressmen when the impeachment hearing resumes.

Umali said have only covered 2 grounds of the impeachment raps so far and it may take them 8 to 10 more hearings before they can decide on the complaint filed by lawyer Larry Gadon.

“If there is nothing we can get from [her] to refute any of these allegations, then I think — and based on my conversation with the other members, and considering also that we have a super majority in the House of Representatives — I think there will be sufficiency of votes to impeach her,” he said.

Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio has declined the House panel’s invitation to appear in the proceedings but Associate Justices Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin and Samuel Martires said they will attend the upcoming hearings.

The camp of the Chief Justice insisted there was no need for her to attend the hearing.

“The Chief Justice has been cooperative. She has filed her verified answers, all documents that are needed to be disclosed have been presented. The way things have been going, we remain hopeful,” lawyer Carlo Cruz, Sereno spokesperson, told ANC.
