The joint venture of Stone of David Corporation and Israeli GAIA Automotive Industries Ltd. has bagged the Multi-Purpose Armored Personnel Carrier (MPAPC) and Accessories Acquisition Project of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force (SAF).
Stone of David Corporation made the revelation through its social networking page by posting a photo of the Notice of Award signed by PNP-SAF head Police Director Noli Taliño.
The procurement project will supply the elite unit of PNP with two (2) units of MPAPC with mobile assault ramp; seven (7) units of MPAPC with multi-weapon remote controlled weapon station (RCWS), 40mm automatic grenade launcher and caliber 50 heavy machine gun with spare barrel; seven (7) units of MPAPC with multi-weapon remote controlled weapon station (RCWS) and caliber 50 heavy machine gun with spare barrel; 103,000 rounds caliber 50 linked ammunition; 7,000 rounds 40mm grenade linked ammunition; and 6 towing bars.
The joint venture won the project with their offer worth PHP596,344,000.00. The project has an approved budget of PHP618,213,470.00.
Stone of David Corporation and Israeli GAIA Automotive Industries Ltd. will be providing the Amir 4×4.
During the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte to Israel in September 2018, among the agreements signed is Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Stone of David Corporation and Gaia Automotive Industries Ltd. for cooperation on the marketing and promotion of tactical vehicles, including technology transfer.
